My Story
__
My name is Janet and I’m here to make your special day come to life! As an experienced and kind-hearted celebrant, I provide a caring and compassionate hand to walk each wonderful client through the moments that matter most.
I am passionate about creating personal and intimate ceremonies that last long in the memory, burning brighter with each passing day. The greatest joy of my life comes through meeting and working with people who are coming together to mark a loving occasion. When we place a flag in the ground for days of great love, or loss, they continue to wave long after the day is done.
Having worked in radio and television from an early age, I developed presentation and performance skills that would become a defining aspect of my civil celebrant service. When I look back on my life and career I feel a great sense of pride. Still, seeing the joy on the faces of my clients at each ceremony is the most rewarding feeling of all.
I combine my lifetime of experience in the media with a deep passion and enthusiasm for creating personally crafted memories. My connection with every occasion sets me apart. Not simply an experienced and knowledgeable celebrant, but a guiding hand and an open heart that celebrates the uniqueness of every moment.
Whether it’s celebrating the new love between two lives coming together, the renewed love between two lives long entwined, the love of a child as it comes into this world, or the loving memory of those who have departed, my warmth, experience, and commitment to your occasion will always shine through.

Weddings
As an experienced celebrant, I have been helping Western Australian love take flight for 7 years. No two weddings are the same, so I aim to craft a ceremony that perfectly captures the bond you and your partner share.
Congratulations on this amazing, life changing experience you have coming up! As an experienced celebrant, I have been helping Western Australian love take flight for 7 years. No two weddings are the same, so I aim to craft a ceremony that perfectly captures the bond you and your partner share. While each of my previous wedding ceremonies have been my proudest, the one I am most looking forward to...is yours!

Funerals
I understand each service is a chance for those present to grieve, while celebrating the life of their loved one. I will channel my experiences towards a meaningful funeral service that speaks to those suffering through loss. While loss is a reality for us all, when it strikes, it can present a daunting obstacle to overcome.
As part of my service I can help organise memorial services, civil or non-religious funerals, as well as the scattering of ashes. I can also help create a eulogy that captures the essence of your loss, as I understand how difficult this can be. You may wish to incorporate music and video tributes too as each funeral service is tailored to your needs. I appreciate how challenging these moments can be. I will help bring together a service that perfectly captures the life of your loved one. Whether coming from an illness, or an unexpected event, loss is difficult to put into words. I will find the voice to express the complex range of emotions you are feeling.
It’s my goal to help with the process of grief, to make the absence of your loved one less painful, and to capture the balance between mourning, and celebration. If you require assistance planning a memorial or funeral service, please get in touch.

Renewals of Vows
For others, marriage has been a challenge and a renewal of vows celebrates finding calm after troubled waters. While a major milestone, for example a 25th or 50th wedding anniversary, also marks the perfect occasion to renew vows.
Whatever the reason, renewing your vows is the perfect way to reaffirm your love, giving you the chance to stand with your partner before family and friends and commit to them all over again. More than just a chance to celebrate love, a renewal of vows acknowledges the journey you’ve taken to this point. Through every success and setback, you and your partner stood together. A renewal of vows is a beautiful way to bring the love you share into sharp focus.
Do you want to involve your adult children in the ceremony? Is this a chance to include your dear friends who were unable to attend the first time? Or, is there a special place that has come to represent your relationship? No matter what drives you to commit to your love all over again, I can craft a personalised experience that recreates the magic of the first time you said “I do”.

Commitment Ceremonies
Commitment ceremonies were a popular choice for same sex couple who were unable to legally wed, though we’ve now achieved marriage equality (love triumphs!). Still, commitment ceremonies remain a beautiful way to publicly declare love for a range of people.
A commitment ceremony is perfect for couples who don’t want to get married, but simply want to stand in front of their family and friends and declare their love for all to see. The same goes for couples who have endured troubling times but have emerged stronger and want to mark their success, and for couples who got married abroad or eloped. It gives them the chance to reaffirm their love surrounded by those who were unable to attend the wedding itself.
Taking place anywhere you like, a commitment ceremony may imitate the feel of a wedding, with an exchange of vows, a white gown and maybe even some embarrassing speeches! Or, you may prefer to create a unique and personal experience that reflects your relationship.
If you feel like a commitment ceremony would suit your relationship, or want to discuss ideas, please reach out and contact me today.

Baby Namings
A naming ceremony is the ideal way to celebrate the new light in your life. The ceremony can be as formal or informal as you like, and is a chance for new parents, and the loving network of support around them, to declare their love and commitment. Some people choose to say a few words or to make promises to support and guide the newborn. I am able to accommodate a range of beliefs and desires to help your ceremony stand out as a beautiful and unforgettable memory.
A naming ceremony is a chance to celebrate a new life. But, more than that, it celebrates the family and friends who will shape and sculpt that life. It’s said that it takes a village to raise a child, so each naming ceremony is set up to celebrate you and your villagers. Each naming ceremony may be personalised in whatever way you like, including poems, songs or speeches given by those who will play supporting roles as the child grows. As part of my service I can also provide a record of the ceremony to capture the moment forever.
Please get in touch to discuss your ideas for the ideal naming ceremony for you.

Eulogy Writing
In these difficult times it is challenging to properly put words to the feelings you are experiencing.
I will help compose a eulogy that gives a voice to the words you are struggling to say. A remembrance speech that is unique, memorable and captures the spirit of your loved one is an important and lasting tribute. I will help find words that will stay with you, in your heart, every time you celebrate the life of those you have lost. Whether you want religion to play a part in your service, or prefer a more spiritual approach, I can accommodate the belief systems and values you hold dearest. As an experienced celebrant, I bring a skilled and compassionate presence to help you through these difficult times. I appreciate that the responsibility of your eulogy comes with great trust. I will spend time with you, hearing stories about your loved one, and understanding the small details that led to a great life. Please get in touch if you require help lending a voice to your feelings of loss.

Event MC
No matter what ceremony you have, an experienced and confident MC is a must-have. Having worked in television and radio throughout the 70’s and 80s’s (where does the time go?!) I also produced and MC’d a broad range of national and international fashion shows. From planning and producing large public events to crafting memories at small, intimate ceremonies throughout Western Australia, my abilities as an MC are built on my considerable experience and my passion for the celebrant work I do.
By your side from day one to the final chapter of your ceremony, my experience and commitment set me apart. If you’d like to learn more about my MC services please reach out and get in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

__
- Plan your wedding your way (Don’t compare to others) Remember the most importance people on the day are you two. Do it your way!
- Try to plan each detail with your partner. Enjoy the process together
- When choosing an outside venue, have a back up for weather problems, even in the summer, it can rain, and storms do happen!
- Although you have been checking everything, just make sure you do a ring around to all companies & individuals involved, during the final week.
- A photographer once said, “ I wish all brides would drink a lot of water at least one month before, so the skin is moist and glorying
- Shoes: Take to wearing the special shoes from the moment you purchase them, to the wedding day, everyday for a half an hour. You will thank yourself for doing so on the wedding… otherwise your feet will feel the ‘pain’.
- The Dress: Put your gown on and don’t just look in the mirror. Walk in it (with the shoes on) even up and down stairs, as often as you can. On ‘The’ day you will be so pleased you did. You will feel as if it is a part of you.
Elopement Ceremony: Small intimate legal wedding. Work closely with you to create a special, romantic ceremony. (Minimum 5 persons – Bridal couple, celebrant and two witnesses.) This is officially conducted prior to an overseas wedding ceremony in places, such as Bali and other destinations. Therefore you are married under Australian Law, and have friends and family enjoying a tropical paradise. (Note: For continuity I do conduct service at the O/S venues).
- Not be married to someone else
- Not be marrying a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister.
- Be eighteen years old, unless a court has approved a marriage where one party is aged between 126-18 years old.
